President Ali Nasser Muhammad spoke about the Arab Peace Group, and each of the Executive Council members: Dr. Adnan Badran, Minister Samir Habashneh, and Dr. Abdul Hussein Shaaban, presented an introduction to the Peace Group, its goals, and what it has accomplished over the past years in terms of initiatives and communications in Yemen, Libya, and Palestine, with the aim of promoting dialogue as a solution to crises. And wars instead of weapons.
President Nasser praised the efforts of the envoy to stop the war and bring peace in Yemen, and that the peace group supports the work of the envoy and its role is complementary to his humanitarian and international role and goals to bring peace to Yemen. He pointed out what the group can offer in this field.
For his part, Mr. Hans welcomed the members of the group and its president, whom he met in Cairo at the end of 2021, and praised their initiative and efforts in the field of peace, protecting it and working to sustain it. The two sides exchanged talks about the situation in Yemen and the region. The President stressed that this nine-year war must end, and the unity and sovereignty of Yemen must be preserved, and peace must prevail in Yemen and the region.
At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to continue cooperation and coordination in the future and the need to combine all local, regional and international efforts in order to stop the war and bring peace to Yemen and the region.
The group's delegation included former Prime Minister Adnan Badran, Minister Samir Habashneh, Dr. Akram Abdel Latif, Iraqi writer and thinker Abdel Hussein Shaaban, Ms. Najla Hamad, the general coordinator of the group, and Mr. Ammar Ali, member of the Arab Peace Group for Youth.
